Trojden VIIw WarkiWe are proud to announce that our Museum has received a subsidy from the Polish Ministry of Culture, National Heritage, and Sports to finance a project entitled "Warka, a 700-year history."

NDPRZSince 2017, March 24 has marked the National Day of Remembrance for Poles who rescued Jews under German occupation. It was initiated by the President of the Republic of Poland on the anniversary of the tragic death of the Ulma family from Markowa near Rzeszów, whom Germans executed for helping Jews following a decree dating October 15, 1941, requiring the Jewish population to limit their stay in the region.

The Casimir Pulaski Museum in Warka will be closed to visitors until April 9, 2021 to ensure the safety of Museum guests and employees, in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Ordinance of the Polish Council of Ministers dating March 19, 2021, establishing certain restrictions, injunctions, and prohibitions in connection with the outbreak of an epidemic (Journal of Laws 2021, item 512.)

palac pulaskiThe Casimir Pulaski Museum in Warka will be closed to visitors from March 15 through March 28, 2021 due to the increase in the incidence of Covid-19 cases, and to ensure the safety of Museum guests and employees, in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Ordinance of the Polish Council of Ministers dating March 11, 2021, amending the Ordinance on the establishment of certain restrictions, injunctions, and prohibitions in connection with the outbreak of an epidemic (Journal of Laws 2021, item 446).

urodziny2021 0002Polish people marked the 276th anniversary of Casimir Pulaski’s birth with flowers laid at the foot to his monument in the Warka park. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the local governments from the districts of Grójec and Warka, regional organizations, and schools named after Pulaski.

Kazimierz PułaskiCasimir Pulaski was born 276 years ago, on March 6, 1745. However, researchers erroneously assumed for over two centuries that the brave Continental Army soldier and Bar Confederate had been born in a Pulaski family country estate called Winiary, located near the town of Warka.

boznica WarkaEighty years ago, on February 21, 1941, Germans deported Jews from Warka and placed them in the Warsaw ghetto. The Warka ghetto was closed the very next day. In Wiktor Krawczyk's words: "In the early morning on February 21, 1941, Jewish people carrying hand luggage were divided by Germans into groups of fours, escorted to the railroad station, and put on a train to the Warsaw ghetto.
