On April 21, 2017, the Museum staff and local students came together to commemorate this year’s Earth Day by tidying up the historic Warka-Winiary park.
The 2017 motto “Toward Nature” („W kierunku natury”) emphasizes the need for biodiversity protection, which is especially important in the age of global warming and the ever increasing pollution of water and air. The international Earth Day forms a wonderful opportunity to organize a wide range of promotional campaigns aimed at strengthening environmental protection. This most significant environmental holiday has been celebrated since 1970 throughout the world and 1990 in Poland. The Casimir Pulaski Museum in Warka has been an active participant for twelve years.
We would like to thank headmasters, teaching staff, and students of Piotr Wysocki 1st Public Elementary School and Piotr Wysocki High School in Warka for their participation. We especially thank classes 4b and 4c at the Piotr Wysocki 1st Public Elementary School and their teachers Agnieszka Jaworska and Marta Wojsa as well as class 2b with the Piotr Wysocki High School in Warka and their teacher Iwona Masiewicz.
We also wish to thank the Municipal Services Department in Warka (Zaklad Uslug Komunalnych w Warce) for their help in organizing the event.
